J:son Micro-Barbed Tungsten Mayfly Nymphs

Maximum Depth, Ultimate Security When the fish are feeding deep and the current is strong, you need two things: weight to reach the strike zone and a hook you can trust. The J:son Micro-Barbed Tungsten Series combines our world-class anatomical realism with the rapid sink rate of high-density tungsten and the added security of a micro-barbed hook.

The Precision of the Micro-Barb The micro-barb is the choice for anglers who want that extra insurance during a long fight or when fishing heavy water. It offers a firm hold while being significantly easier to unhook than a standard barb, minimizing stress on the fish.

• Rapid Sinking: The tungsten body ensures your nymph cuts through the surface tension and heavy current to reach the riverbed where the big fish are holding.

• Anatomical Accuracy: Despite the added weight, these nymphs maintain the exact silhouette of the natural insect, ensuring the fish doesn't hesitate.

• Versatile Performance: Ideal for "European Nymphing" techniques or as a point fly in a multi-fly rig.

The Three Profiles of Success:

• Digging Nymphs (High Volume): Weighted to reach the depths where large Green Drakes and other silt-dwelling species reside. Perfect for deep pools and lake drop-offs.

• Swimming Nymphs (Balanced Drift): Mimics the darting, vulnerable movement of species like the Claret Dun. The tungsten weight provides a lifelike jigging action when retrieved.

• Clinging Nymphs (Streamlined Grip): These "bodybuilders" (like the Yellow May Dun) live in the fastest water. The tungsten weight keeps them pinned to the bottom, mirroring their natural behavior in high-velocity streams.

Tactical Advice: In high-water conditions or cold temperatures, fish are less likely to move far for a meal. Use these tungsten nymphs to put the fly right in front of their noses. A "dead-drift" near the bottom is often the key to success.
