100% pure fluorocarbon tippet material featuring ultra-fast sink rate, zero water absorption, and near-total invisibility underwater.

Fast Sinking: Dense material cuts through the water surface tension quickly, taking nymphs and wet flies straight to the feeding zone.
Invisible Underwater: Matches the light refraction index of water (1.42), making it virtually undetectable to sharp-eyed fish.
Extreme Abrasion Resistance: Superior protection against sharp rocks, toothy structure, mussel beds, and seabed friction.
Zero Water Absorption: Retains 100% of its knot strength, stiffness, and breaking strain even after hours in the water.
Includes Tippet Tender: Comes equipped with a custom J:son elastic spool tender to keep line secure, organized, and tangle-free.

Fluorocarbon is the ultimate choice for streamer anglers, coastal sea trout fishermen, and technical nymphing enthusiasts. Unlike standard nylon, fluorocarbon does not float or absorb water. It sinks rapidly, stays rigid under tension, and withstands harsh friction against rocks and underwater structures.

Pro Tip: The Ultimate Hybrid Rigging Strategy

Why don't we offer full tapered fluorocarbon leaders? Because nylon offers vastly superior energy transfer and turnover in the thick butt section. For the ultimate setup, combine a J:son Tapered Nylon Leader (Coastal or Ultimate) with 50–100 cm of J:son Pure Fluorocarbon Tippet attached via a J:son Swivel or J:son Tippet Ring. You get the perfect cast turnover of nylon combined with the stealth, fast sink rate, and extreme abrasion resistance of fluorocarbon right where it matters most—at the fly.
