J:son Micro-Barbed Mayfly Nymphs

The Natural Drift: Realism in Motion When fish are feeding in shallower runs or higher in the water column, a heavy fly can often look unnatural. The J:son Micro-Barbed Mayfly Nymph Series is designed for those moments when a natural, unweighted drift is the key to success. These nymphs move with the current exactly like the real insects, providing a lifelike presentation that even the most cautious trout cannot resist.

Security and Precision Built on high-quality hooks with a micro-barb, this series offers the perfect balance between tradition and modern fish handling. The micro-barb provides the extra security needed to land a trophy fish in heavy current, while still being easy to remove to ensure the fish's well-being.

• Natural Suspension: Without the heavy weight of tungsten, these nymphs "hover" and drift naturally, making them ideal for fishing over weed beds or in shallower river sections.

• Anatomical Perfection: Every nymph is a mirror image of the natural insect, featuring the correct proportions, legs, and tail filaments that trigger a fish's predatory instinct.

• The Versatile Choice: Perfect as a single fly in skinny water or as a "dropper" behind a dry fly in a New Zealand-style rig.

Three Biological Profiles:

• Digging Nymphs (Standard Weight): Ideal for imitating large species like the Green Drake in shallower silt-bottomed areas. Their natural buoyancy allows them to "tumble" along the bottom just like an insect that has been washed out of its burrow.

• Swimming Nymphs (Fluid Movement): In their unweighted form, these imitations of species like the Claret Dun move with incredible fluidity. They are perfect for "dead-drifting" through the middle layers of the water column.

• Clinging Nymphs (Surface to Bottom): Designed to mimic the compact "bodybuilders" (like the Yellow May Dun) that have lost their grip on the rocks. Their low profile and anatomical legs create the perfect silhouette against the surface light.

Tactical Advice: Use these standard-weight nymphs when you see fish "flashing" mid-water or when fishing over sensitive, snag-heavy bottoms. A long leader and a light tippet will allow these nymphs to dance in the current with maximum realism.
