Fly Type: Terrestrial Imitation / Mouse Imitation Pattern. Surface Inmate Popping/Popping/Waking Fly.
Best Suited For: Trophy-sized Brown Trout, Rainbow, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth Bass, aggressive, predatory fish looking for a large meal.
Best Time to Fish: Primarily for night fishing, particularly effective during late summer through autumn. Often productive at dusk and dawn. Can be fished in daylight, but the magic often happens when creating "waking" strips on the surface.
Water Type: Freshwater Fly
Where to Fish: Along dark, undercut riverbanks, near thick mouths of small tributaries, in deep pools with woody debris, or in lakes. Cast close to shore and retrieve with twitching strips to create a "v-wake" on the surface, mimicking a swimming or struggling mouse. Also effective near weed beds in lakes.
