Description

Europa 12 Brown, a type of wet fly or small streamer. It's an impressionistic pattern with a brown body and a gold ribbing, designed to imitate a variety of aquatic insects, such as caddisflies, mayflies, or stoneflies, as well as small baitfish. The feathered wing and hackle provide a lifelike movement in the water, and the gold ribbing creates an attractive flash that can provoke a strike.

Type of Fly: Wet Fly / Small Streamer. It is designed to be fished just below the surface or in the middle of the water column.

Target Fish: This is a versatile and effective pattern for trout (especially brown and rainbow trout) and grayling.

When to Fish: The Europa 12 Brown is a useful year-round pattern. It is especially effective during insect hatches, as brown is a very common color for many aquatic insects. It can be fished successfully at any time of day.

Saltwater or Freshwater: This is a freshwater fly.

Best Fishing Locations: This fly is best fished in rivers and streams, cast across and downstream and allowed to swing in the current to imitate a drowned or swimming insect. It also works well in the slower runs and pools of lakes and still waters.
